Vladimir Somov

Senior Generalist & Concept Designer

Vladimir Somov is a Lead CG Generalist and Lighting Artist with over a decade of experience crafting high-end cinematics for film and video games. He has contributed to projects such as Gears of War: E-Day and Secret Level Unreal Tournament: Xan with Blur Studio, helping push the boundaries of real-time storytelling in Unreal Engine.


Before joining Blur, Vladimir spent several years at Ubisoft, contributing to cinematic sequences for Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry Primal, For Honor, Far Cry 5, and Far Cry 6, before later transitioning into a cinematic art director and consultant role.


Vladimir graduated from Sheridan College, where he studied traditional art and design. While taking painting and drawing classes during the day, he spent his evenings learning digital matte painting and concept art through The Gnomon Workshop.
