Event Description:
The Gnomon Workshop is presenting our fourth workshop weekend, December 2nd and 3rd. We have a stellar line up of instructors, featuring speakers in and out of the Gnomon Workshop library. These artists will present on subjects including character and concept design, storyboarding, comic book penciling, modeling, game production pipeline, and texturing. In addition, you'll also get a chance to meet some highly accomplished artists who will take you inside their own personal projects and processes.

Join us to hear and watch artists who work in the entertainment industry. Our schedule will include such artists as Craig Mullins, Iain McCaig, Dan Milligan, Steven Stahlberg, Dave Finch, Ron Lemen, David Krentz, Ian Joyner, Lopsie Schwartz and Fausto De Martini. These artists have influenced the landscape of concept design, visual effects and game design, with work featured in films such as Frank Miller's 300, Star Wars Episodes 1-3, Final Fantasy - The Spirits Within, Dinosaur and Eragon, and in games such as Myst 3 Exile, X-men Legends 2, Brothers in Arms and World of Warcraft, and comic books such as Ultimate X-Men, Moon Knight and The New Avengers.

As we did last time, we are holding our recruiting room. Meet representatives from Rhythm and Hues, Blizzard, Vivendi Games, EA, Insomniac, Infinity Ward, NCsoft and Reel FX. This will be a great opportunity to meet supervisors and art directors in the entertainment industry. Bring your portfolios. Bring your questions.

Food, Places to Stay and More:
We'll provide light lunch, refreshments and surprises throughout the day. Seating is extremely limited, so please make sure you register early.

If you're coming in from out of town, the fabulous and centrally located Roosevelt Hotel will extend the Gnomon rate of about $179.00 for our event. Call 323.466.7000 and ask for the Gnomon rooms (based on availability).

The Econo Lodge Hollywood is simple and super inexpensive and within walking distance. It's right around the corner from Gnomon and they're giving a 10 percent discount on their already really low-priced rooms: Single rooms are $69/night; double rooms are $79/night. They're at 777 Vine Street, 323.463.5671. Ask for GT or Carol, and tell them you're coming in for Gnomon.

If you want to find other accommodations, look around Santa Monica and Vine Street (or west).
