In this interview, Meats Meier sits
down with Lily Feliciano at his home studio in downtown LA
to discuss his career, inspiration and current projects.
An award-winning digital artist, Meats Meier has over a decade
of experience in a wide range of artistic fields. His past titles
include: airbrush artist, lead artist at Beyond Games, and technical
director/compositor at the Orphanage on such as Hellboy and Sky
Captain and the World of Tomorrow. He also maintains a successful
career as an independant artist, most recently producing album art
and tour visuals for the band Tool. Meats' artwork has
been featured on the covers of numerous books, magazines, and web
sites.
Meats was honored with the prestigious "Maya Master" title
by Alias at SIGGRAPH 2003.
Meats has produced several renowned DVDs with Gnomon Workshop
on Pixelogic ZBrush. Known for his prolific imagery created
with this amazing tool, Meats shares his techniques and workflow
for how he integrates ZBrush, Photoshop, and Maya.
