Bob Kato demonstrates step-by-step how to draw the human head using
basic drawing materials. He shows how to develop a drawing in stages,
and through this process discusses gesture, form, depth, perspective,
proportion as well as light and shadow. Bob also reveals how he
invents characters using a basic set of guidelines.

Bob Kato has been teaching drawing and painting
classes at the Art Center College of Design in
Pasadena, California since 1990. Bob has also
held workshops at Walt Disney Feature Animation,
Walt Disney Consumer Products, Walt Disney Online
and Universal Studios Creative. In 2002 he founded
The
Drawing Club Drawing Workshop in Los Angeles. Bob has illustrated for publications
such as National Lampoon and Spy Magazine, and
he has illustrations in permanent exhibits
at The Smithsonian
Institute's
National Zoo and The Florida Aquarium. His work
has been included in award annuals such as Communication
Arts and The Society of Illustrators.
